At the suggestion of
Executive Vice Chancellor Selma Botman, AAARI
was invited to participate in the CUNY's
response to the tsunami disaster that struck
South Asia.
As different experts from CUNY are beginning the
brainstorming process to generate a relevant and
comprehensive plan to help rebuild the region,
AAARI is taking the initiative to reach out to
faculty and staff within CUNY that have the
expertise and knowledge of the local region, who
can provide a useful background for an effective
CUNY response. It is hoped that a better
understanding of the local situation will match
the resources available at the City University
of New York to the region. The speakers
will engage in a dialogue, and will answer
questions posed by the audience.
