Students
interested in
experiencing a
whole new world
of education are
invited to come
learn about this
wonderful and
affordable
cultural
opportunity.
Study Abroad in
China
Coordinator:
Shuming Lu
Available for
both the winter
and summer
sessions, this
program combines
BC
faculty-taught
coursework in
Speech, History,
or Chinese
language with an
extensive
cultural and
historical
exploration of
China. Students
travel to 6 of
the most famous
and beautiful
Chinese cities,
including
Beijing and
Shanghai. Field
trips are
arranged to
sites of
importance,
including
TianAnMen
Square, the
Great Wall, the
Terracotta
Warriors,
Buddhist
temples, Islamic
mosques, Jewish
synagogues, and
many others.
This program
provides
students with an
opportunity to
experience
Chinese culture
by first-hand
observation and
interaction with
local people.
A 3-week program
available in the
winter session,
open to students
in all
disciplines.
Students will
experience the
diversity of
rural and urban
India with
visits to Delhi,
Agra, Chennai,
Madurai,
Dindigul,
Ambathurai, and
Bangalore. Students
will make
documentaries in
collaboration
with Indian film
students and
learn about
Indian cultures,
history,
religions and
filmmaking
through a
variety of
lectures,
workshops,
guided tours,
and service
learning
opportunities. Unique
independent
study
opportunities at
schools,
orphanages,
ayeurvedic
hospitals. Open
to both
undergraduate
and graduate
students.
