Since its debut in 2004, the
CUNY Asian American Film
Festival has awarded over $
4,000 in cash prizes to 20
students enrolled at CUNY
colleges including City,
Brooklyn, Hunter, and Staten
Island. The Festival was
created to promote the
artistic visual talents and stimulate communication
among CUNY students who are
separated by the different
campuses spread across the
five boroughs, and serve as
a central location to
display their creative works
among colleagues involved in
the same field of study.
With your help, we hope to
make our 5th
Annual CUNY Asian American
Film Festival even bigger
and better than previous
years. AAARI encourages all
CUNY undergraduate and
graduate students to
participate in this great
opportunity, both Asian and
non-Asian.
Our guest speaker for the
evening will be Professor
Ryoya Terao from the Film
Department of Brooklyn
College, CUNY.
Winner
and runner-up prizes will be
awarded for each of the
following
categories:
-
Fiction
-
Documentary
-
Experimental
All winners and runner-ups
will remain anonymous until
after a screening of
selected films that have met
certain judging criteria.
Following the screening will
be an award ceremony and Q&A
session with the winners and
runner-ups.
